What a Weekend: MI Pond Hockey Classic

Michigan Pond Hockey ClassicAs always, our team at Hockey World had a great time this past weekend at the annual Michigan Pond Hockey Classic. It’s a great weekend full of fundraising, testing out your hockey skills and hanging around a bunch of other fun-loving hockey fans and players, all for a great cause.

Michigan Pond Hockey Sports Charities (MPHSC) provides families in need of financial assistance for their children to participate in youth athletic programs, and Hockey World is honored to be a proud sponsor of the great two-day event. The annual Pool Play tournament is a fun and active way to give back to our communities and help continue to grow the sport (and love) of hockey on all levels while taking in the fresh air day and night.

Perani’s also held a “Skills Competition” on Saturday afternoon, which as you can imagine proved to be one of the highlights of the weekend. Men and women of all hockey levels signed up to see how their skills matched up with others in attendance all for fun, and of course bragging rights.

After a fun weekend like this, we’re pretty sure you’ll agree that hockey is in fact #thebestsportever.

If you follow a lot of hockey, you may have noticed the #PondHockey hashtag being used all over social media by sponsors, players, volunteers and fans just hanging around showing how fun and intense the weekend is. The weekend includes everything from bloody mary bars, hotty toddys, fireworks, live music and of course hockey. And it’s a weekend you won’t want to miss! We are already counting down the days for next year’s tournament!

Don’t miss out next year – be sure to follow MI Pond Hockey Classic on FB, Twitter, and on YouTube.
