Is your child a future Red Wings player?
Last week the Detroit Red Wings kicked off their Little Wings Youth Clinic, which is offered at four different locations throughout the 2014-15 season.
The four locations are: Farmington Hills Ice Arena, St. Clair Shores Civic Arena, Plymouth Cultural Center & Ice, and the Kennedy Recreation Center. Note: due to popular demand, all locations are already full except the St. Clair Shores Civic Arena, so be sure to sign up today! There are waiting lists you can sign up for the other locations.
The St. Clair Shores Civic Arena starts their first clinic on January 18th. Once the equipment fitting is complete, parents will be required to register their child with USA Hockey (a specific registration link for USA Hockey will be emailed to confirmed participants).
The program provides high quality CCM hockey equipment (which is all properly fitted by our trained staff here at Perani’s) and four 60-minute on-ice sessions at a low cost with other beginner players.
The youth program is meant for first-time players to learn the ins and outs of the game and to help build a foundation for the sport. The registration fee is $100 for each child (ages 5-8 only please) and each Little Wings participant is provided a full set of protective equipment including a helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, elbow pads, pants, shin guards, skates, equipment bag, stick and even a Little Wings jersey. And the best part is that your child gets to keep the equipment they get from the clinic, so they are prepared to keep playing their new favorite game!
Although the clinics are for first-time players, it is strongly recommended that each child takes a “learn to skate” class before signing up for one of the clinics.
